I usually don't like to post entries without pictures but today I decided to make an exception. I was feeling kind of down thinking about how the summer is ending and the rain will be here soon and then listening to the peace and quiet in my home right now (my kids are sleeping) which I'm usually grateful for I realized how much I love my kids for the way they liven up this home. So I decided to post a few things I am grateful for:
-My children: The reason I get up in the morning (literally). But seriously, I don't think my life would have as much meaning as it does if I didn't have them. Sometimes I wonder if I'm succeeding at life and when I turn around and see them smiling, I know I must be doing something right. They are the best thing ever!
-My husband: Without him it would just be me. I remember those days and although they were a heck of a lot easier than now, they were also not as fulfilling. I love being a wife and having someone to take care of. I love that I know we will be together for eternity, regardless of the little arguments we get in now and then. I love how he has the drive to get up every single morning and go to work to support his family, and how even when he gets home from work, tired, sometimes still thinking about something that didn't go right that day, he gets on the floor and plays with his kids because he loves them. I love how both my kids first words were "dada." He is their hero and I know why. One example, I had been wanting to get my haircut for a long time and since we only have one car it has been kind of hard getting it done. Yesterday I picked up Richie from work and he dropped me off at the salon to finally get my haircut. He took the kids to McDonald's to play and then picked me up (no complaints about why I didn't make dinner or anything.) After all of that, he still was nice enough to put Isaac to bed so I could go to a friend's house for a girl's night. And when he felt me sneak into bed at 11pm when he was already asleep, the only thing he said to me was "I love you." That is why I love my husband.
-My mom: She is truly my inspiration. She is the most selfless woman I have ever met. She gives all she can and then more. She loves her family and is an example of a wife and mother. Hopefully one day I can be half the wife and mother she is.
-Our home: this is where most of our memories are made. I love that we have a place for Isaac and Abby to play and do whatever it is they want, even when it's raining outside.
-My friends, every single one of them (close and far!) I learn so much from all of you. It isn't easy living far from family, but my friends have made it so much easier. It's nice having friends that are going through the same things I'm going through. It's so great being able to sit down and talk to them while the kids play, it just makes life so much happier! I love you guys, thanks for all you do!
-Our Heavently Father: without Him, I wouldn't have this list. He makes everything possible, and I know He watches over my family, my most precious gift. I know that I can always turn to Him whenever I'm feeling like I was feeling today.
Once the rainy season starts again and any of you hear me complaining, remind me to go back and read this!
