We're Baaack...(at least I think we are...)

So I think that last post totally jinxed me...NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT, but a couple of days after I blogged last, our house fell apart. For the last month, there has always been at least one sick person in our house. For about 2 weeks of it, it was me. I might as well have been pregnant because I was soooo sick, but finally I am feeling back to normal. Richie still has a little bit of a cold and Isaac woke up with pink eye again for the second time in 2 weeks yesterday (which I think is ALMOST cured now thanks to those wonderful antibiotic drops). So I have to say we are definitely doing better. We have not been to church in a month but will DEFINITELY reactivate ourselves next Sunday just in time for Easter (we were supposed to go back today but pink eye=very angry nursery leaders).
Anyway, I promised I would not throw myself a pity party through this post, so I will move on...kind of. So I decided that getting the germs out of our apartment is too hard so I have begged Richie to let us move. That's right, I am running away from my problems. No, actually, I just think it's time for us to decide what our next move (or lack of move) is. So we are trying to see if we are staying or going. We're hoping we can move into a house because all our closets are full, there is no more space under all our beds, and toys have taken over this apartment. So yes, a house would be nice, but we'll just have to wait and see what Heavenly Father has in store for us!
The update on the kids: Abby is a very busy 16 month old girl. She has learned lots of words: ball, balloon, banana, sock, shoe, jacket, head, nose, fish, etc. A lot of them sound the same, but I get the idea. Her new thing is to go grab her jacket whenever there is any indication of any of us going out. It's really cute, until she realizes she's staying home and she screams.

Isaac has matured a lot in the past few months. He is such a good helper with everything (he actually calls himself "a good helper"). He loves to help doing dishes, laundry, cleaning, feeding Abby and so on. A lot of it might have been brought on by his parents being sick for a month, but hey, I can't complain. Today I realized Isaac was really missing going to nursery when he asked why we weren't going to church so I sat him down and started reading "The Book of Mormon Reader" to him. The first story is about Joseph Smith, the first vision, and the translation of the Book of Mormon. Well after we finished reading, I went back and asked him all the names of the people again. When we got to Jesus and Heavenly Father (from the first vision), Isaac said, "mama, I want to hug Jesus, can I hug him?" I love how my sweet, innocent 3 year-old son loves Jesus and looks up to him. I know that his wonderful nursery leaders play a huge role in what he learns at church and I am so grateful for them!
One last thing...I would just like to thank all of my wonderful friends who have helped so much by bringing meals, calling, IMing, and just thinking about my family and keeping us in their prayers. It is so amazing how whenever I was laying on the couch at 11am with absolutely no energy to do anything, my phone would ring and one of my wonderful friends would be on the other end asking what she could do for us. Thank you all so much, I love you girls!
Here's to hoping we stay healthy til next winter...

My "little helpers"

Richie finally put up the pull up bar I gave him 2 Christmases ago...The kids love it...me, not so much!

Richie also got this workout bench for our room which Isaac helped him set up. We're totally getting buff at our house...not! Sometime before we got sick we took a trip to Mt. Hood to go snow tubing with the kids. A little bit of a disaster mixed with a little bit of fun was the outcome.

Isaac feeding his sister, he even tried to wipe her mouth after each bite! Go Isaac!!This is what happens every time I try to take a picture of our little Abby lately...Richie thinks she's "spunky." He always tries to be so positive!Making muffins! Yes, Isaac has become very domestic :)

Hey, Keyan had pink eye and stayed home from church today too. What is up with all these germs?! I feel the same way about moving to escape the germs. I am sure something will work out, for both of us. Thanks for the great update! I LOVE the pictures of Isaac feeding Abby! That is so adorable. What a good helper! I am glad that you are all on the mend...knock on wood...I would hate to jinx you! Your kids are so darn cute and hopefully we'll all be back playing at he park together soon!

I'm glad everything is on the upswing over there! Man, what a lousy month feeling so sick! Your little Abby is so pretty!
So, if you move, I hope we get a chance to see you before then. Are you going to the Tulip Festival again this year? Maybe then we'll get a chance to meet! That would be fun! K, stay healthy!

I was interested to read your blog. As a parent you may be interested in being part of a university study I'm involved with. It’s about how infants and children develop. It wouldn’t take much of your time, and it’s a great way to contribute to knowledge by reporting on your own experiences. For more details go to the following address after copying it into your browser window, www.babysleepstudy.org or go to www.milestonesresearch.org and click on "Baby Sleep." Best wishes, Rebecca
