In the midst of all the sorting, cleaning, and stressing about this move, I have to take a little time to blog about my last week here in Portland. It has been the happiest yet saddest week. We've spent such great times with friends, yet knowing that in a couple of days we will be boarding a plane without knowing when the next time we will be back is really hard.
On Wednesday night my girlfriends and I got together for a little farewell party for me at Erin's house. We had a fabulous time and decided we couldn't say goodbye just yet. Thursday afternoon we all got together with the kids for "their" little farewell party. I don't think the kids really understood that we were leaving, but it was a fun time. Then Friday night the girls and I (we missed you Kristen, Kristy, and Tara!) went out for some Thai food and then went over to Amy's where we talked for hours. Seriously, I think if I got locked in a room with these girls for days on end, we would never run out of things to talk about. That's how well we all get along. It was a great time, but it was way too hard to say goodbye.
Alissa, Amy, Erin, Jackie, Kristen, Kristy, and Tara, I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to get to know each one of you. I feel so blessed to have lived here for a short 3 years and yet have made friendships which I know will last forever. You have taught me more about being a mother, a wife, a friend, than I ever thought I could learn. It was very difficult to live across the country from my family as a new mom, but all of you made this experience an amazing and easier one. You are all great examples to me, and I will always remember that. Thank you for all the babysitting, the dinners, the phone calls, the advice, the parties, the hugs, the laughs. I will miss you more than you could ever imagine. Hopefully I will find a group of friends in North Carolina that are half as wonderful as all of you. I love you girls, and make sure you think about me at the next Rockband party!
Don't forget-- girls reunion when we turn 30!!

we love you maria! Have a safe trip and good luck with all the house-hunting. I'm going to miss you!!!!!
oh man, why do you always have to make me cry! i'm so sad to say bye for now. i will seriously miss you - you are one of the kindest, funniest, selfless-est people I know. (you even alphabetized our friends names in your list so no one would be offended for being listed last. that's love.) of course deep down under my selfishness i'm excited & happy for your new adventure! :) i love you.
oh my goodness! What a bittersweet time! Thanks so much for the kind words, and I couldn't agree more! I love the pics of the girls date, and the kiddos date and the birthday date! (happy b-day!) that really is a special group of girlies! And this is going to sound SOOOOO corny...but I swear, I think one of the reasons I don't feel completely alone here in TX is because each night I jump on my computer and I feel connected to you GREAT people! And while a blog is no replacement for the awesome rock band parties...it does help ease the pain of seperation! :) good luck with all the moving! can't wait to see where you settle in! *LOVE YA*
I'm sorry Carter and Braden missed out on the fun, you can paste them into your pictures! No wonder you were up crying all night, I'm crying just reading your post! I can't wait until we all turn 30 and we can have an awesome reunion. We'll really have a lot to talk about then! I LOVE YOU!!!! And I love Isaac and Abby too, but I just like Richie. I think it would be wierd if I said I love Richie....so I'll say I love your whole family and will miss you tons and tons!!
Wow! What can I say but you're awesome and I'm seriously going to miss you! You have done so much for my family and have really taken care of us during illness, pregnancy and a new baby, etc... You are such a fabulous friend, and though Portland won't be the same without you, I can't wait to read and see pictures about your new life in NC! I'm in for the reunion in a couple years! Seriously, this group of friends is awesome!
Geez make me cry!I wish I could have been there this last week to play and help however I can.I miss you already! You are such a fun girl and a great mom. There are obviouly people in NC that need you more, and the Lord has work for you there but it doesn't mean we will miss you any less!It will be impossible for you not to find friends there, but just know, they will never be as great as all of us :) I say we have our reunion on a girls cruise eh eh eh
Well let me be the first to welcome you to the East Coast!!!! Ahh, I'm so excited to have you so close. We need to plan a get together as soon as you guys are settled in. Do you think Joe and Dawnelle would make the trip too? I hope all goes well with the move. Love you!
